Year End Payroll Process

As we begin the process of closing out 2024, we would like to express our sincere thanks. It has been a pleasure serving you this year.

To prepare for the year-end processing, we ask that you review the Year End To Do List below.

It is critical that all the requested changes/information be provided to us no later than December 15, 2024.  

If we do not receive the requested information, we will consider 2024 closed once the last payroll of the year has been processed. Additional charges will apply if we are notified of additional year-end needs after the year is closed.

If you have any questions regarding these or any other year-end issues, please let us know as soon as possible.

 

Year-End To Do List

 

□  Review all employee demographic information. If incorrect or missing, please add the applicable information (i.e. addresses, social security numbers, correct name, birthdates, hire dates and termination dates, etc.).  

 

□   After your last payroll dated in December, all accruable benefit balances, i.e., sick, vacation, PTO, will be reset to zero unless we are currently tracking your accruable benefits or you provide us with beginning balances for each employee for 2024.

 

□   All bonuses need to be reported as wages. Report any bonuses not already included in payroll  prior the last payroll dated in 2024.

 

□   Please provide us with the health insurance premiums paid by the S-Corp for each shareholder.

 

□   Review and submit any applicable taxable fringe benefits such as, Moving Expenses, Employer HSA, etc.

 

□   If you or any of your employees have a company provided vehicle available for personal use, please have the employee complete the Employee Statement on Use of Company Automobile and return it to Atlantic Payroll by December 15, 2024.

 

□   The Retirement Plan box will be automatically checked if you have any plan funded via payroll deductions (401K, 403b, Simple, SEP, etc.) Atlantic Payroll must be notified if any other categories must be checked.

 

□   If you provide health insurance, please report the total amount in premiums paid to the insurance company for each individual employee during 2024.
